Matthias Höfs - Trumpet
When he was six years old, Matthias Höfs declared the trumpet "his instrument, because it shines so nicely".
He received his musical education from Professor Peter Kallensee at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre,
and from Professor Konradin Groth at the Karajan Academy of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra.
When just 18 years of age, he was engaged as Solo-Trumpeter at the Philharmonic State Orchestra in Hamburg,

Since their first joint concert in 1985, he writes for himself and his colleagues tailored arrangements
which span more then one genre and continue to inspire the world of Brass.
Matthias Höfs has always shown a pioneering spirit, and thus has consistently widened the horizon of his instrument,
either by close cooperation with other composers, who feel themselves inspired by his incomparable virtuosity
and joy of experimentation, or as "trumpet ambassador" in his home state of Schleswig-Holstein in northern Germany,
or in cooperation with the instrument makers Max and Heinrich Thein.
Since the year 2000, Matthias Höfs has been teaching as Professor at the Hamburg University of Music and Theatre,
were he inspires his students with great enthusiasm, knowing how to pass on his passion for his instrument.
In addition to his extensive concert performances as solo-trumpeter and chamber musician,
Höfs has produced numerous Solo CDs, and jointly with GERMAN BRASS, more than 20 recordings.

The venue: the Ruhr Valley Cathedral in Wetter
The Luther Church in Wetter - also known as the Ruhrtaler Dom due to its extraordinary size and monumentality -
was built between 1904 and 1906 in neo-gothic style based on Romanesque forms.
The construction was the outstanding task for the parish at the beginning of the 20th century.
After the comprehensive refurbishment in the years 1994 to 2004, the church now shines in new splendor.
The special acoustics of this monument make every concert a very special experience.

you might wonder why the internet site of the company Development and Art is displayed.
Therefore please allow me, Torsten Mühlhoff, an explanatory note, why the two Internet addresses

and
www.development-and-art.de
refer to the same content.
Since time immemorial, I live in the beautiful Wetter at the Ruhr.
No professional career could induce me to turn back to my home.
Whether for leisure or business: to commit oneself for beautiful and valuable - that is, owning an intrinsic value - topics,
is a major concern.
Privately this means, for example, the commitment in the
Ev.-luth. Kirchengemeinde Wetter (Ruhr),
in the
Rotary Club Wetter-Herdecke Ruhrtal
or in the Community of Artists
Diversity of Art's.
But also from a professional point of view - and ever since the founding of my company Development and Art in July 2014 -
there is a strong reference to my hometown,
which - in this particular case - manifests itself in the planning and execution of this special event.
"Wir in Wetter" - "We in Wetter" - stands for the idea of contributing to the positive development of our city
and for a beautiful life in the Harkortstadt.
