Stadtmarketing für Wetter e.V.:
The aim of the association is the presentation of the location Wetter and the targeted image care as well as the improvement of the attractiveness of the town Wetter (Ruhr) for citizens of the city of Wetter (Ruhr), citizens of the surrounding area, resident companies as well as companies willing to settle. The association wants to contribute by means of ideal, factual and/or financial support of suitable events in the cultural, sporting, economic, social and/or ecological area. The association may also undertake other measures which may be appropriate for achieving the purposes of the association (for example, planning and work aids, publications and similar services).

So it is to be read in the statutes of the association.
And this was also the basis of the discussions held in the spring of 2016,
which were conducted in the context of the proposed new creation of a website for the Stadtmarketing für Wetter e.V.
In essence, the interesting offer of city marketing should be presented in a modern and easily accessible way.
The conception, design and implementation
The strong connection of Torsten Mühlhoff to the region as well as to various institutes based here
(such as the church community, the Rotary Club, the artists' community)
certainly played a decisive role in the initial conception of the new website.
The "presentation of the location Wetter and the targeted image care" became a matter of the heart.
Content related and visual highlights

Modern, fresh, and the corporate design of the city marketing accommodating appearance,
which functions for the various devices ("responsive design").

Support for visualization forms, which can either extend over the full width of the browser window or are limited by their width.

Provision of the services of the city marketing as well as the related reporting in a simple and appealing way
(including a calendar presentation with links to detailed information).

Definition of about 100 subject categories in the section "Leisure & Tourism" (structure in 2 levels).
This included the partly very detailed editorial preparation.
Especially for the interactive presentation of hiking and cycling tours a high effort was made.

Selection of more than 800 high-quality photographs of Wetter from a total of thousands of images
made in the past year (numerous additional photo shoots in 2016).

Preparation and categorization of these images.
This included, in addition to the photo processing, the assignment of metadata,
e.g. the defined subject categories as well as the geo-coordinates
(location of the photographer as well as the direction of view).

Interactive, dynamic linking of the various content areas
(for example, topics from the area of "Leisure & Tourism" with news and events).

Support of German and English content.

Presentation of each member of the city marketing association on an individual member page.

Creation of a Facebook and a Google+ presentation.

Global, high quality search.

Integration or linking of further services and information.

The future
Much has already been implemented.
But there is still plenty of exciting information about Wetter to be made available to a large public.
